Yesterday..

This was the beginning of the drawing I was working on yesterday.
I held it up to my face, to show Bill .. and then he snapped this unusual picture.

The Last of the Oatmeal Days..

It's cold here today, at least by April in Florida standards.
Right now, this very minute it feels like it's 64 degrees.

Thats unheard of this time of year!!

If thats not inspiration enough to paint, I don't know what is.

Black Sun..

"During spring in Denmark, at approximately one half an hour before sunset, flocks of more than a million European starlings (sturnus vulgaris) gather from all corners to join in the incredible formations shown above. This phenomenon is called Black Sun (in Denmark), and can be witnessed in early spring throughout the marshlands of western Denmark, from March through to the middle of April. The starlings migrate from the south and spend the day in the meadows gathering food, sleeping in the reeds during the night. The best place to view this amazing aerial dance is in the place called "Tøndermarsken," where these pictures were taken (on April 5 from 19.30 to 20.30 local time). "

When your life is a movie still in every moment

It's not often that a series of images can take my breathe away these days.
There is too much to be seen everywhere. Over-saturation has dulled the senses.

Yesterday though, thanks to an older post on Tornados in Brooklyn I sunk into my seat in amazement. 20 Year old Mike Brodie (aka The Polaroid Kid) is nothing short of incredible. He travels in a world the majority of us will never see, and he sends those images our way with sensitivity and empathy and a healthy dose of kick-ass rebellion.
